Board the Kalliste

You board via a ramp at the stern or at the bow of the ship.

If you have a vehicle, a member of the crew will direct you to the Car Deck.

If you do not have a vehicle, you will board using the gangway entrance at the side of the vessel. A lift and stairs will take you to Reception. We invite you to take with you bags and items that you will need during the crossing (toilet bag, warm clothes). For security reasons (Code ISPS), access to your vehicle is prohibited after departure.

We must inform you that for reasons of hygiene and allergies, domestic animals are not authorised in passenger areas. They must travel in your vehicle or in the kennels. To find out more about travelling with pets, click here .

Reception can be found on Deck 4. The Purser and the Maître d'Hôtel will give you a card-key that opens the door of your cabin and they will explain where it is. Between your arrival on board and the departure of the ship, it is still possible to change accommodation subject to availability.

Life on board

On Deck 5, the Bar is open until 11pm. You can watch TV there, or read local and national press.

Around 9pm, a film will be shown at the Cinema, on the same deck, behind the Bar. The showing is free. The programme is posted at the entrance to the auditorium. Next to it, you will find, the Television Room. For little ones a Children’s Area, with a play area, can be found on Deck 5 in the Lounge. Video games are also available for older ones.

Your evening meal and your breakfast

In the evening you have a choice between the Restaurant à la Carte and the Snack Bar.
The Restaurant à la Carte, on Deck 5 at the bow of the ship, opens its doors from 7pm until 9.30pm. You will be served at your table. Let yourself be tempted by the variety of starters, the refinement of the dishes of the day whether meat, fish or grilled food, and desserts. Taste the flavours of the Isle of Beauty in the dishes inspired by Corsican cuisine. Dishes are prepared on board the same day by our chefs.
A bottle of Corsican mineral water is offered to you on each table by the Company. Our wine waiter will advise you on the best choice of bottled wines or the house wine  LA MERIDIONALE. The menus are posted at the entrance.

With a panoramic view, the Snack Bar on Deck 6 at the stern of the boat is open from 7pm to 10.30pm. It’s very practical if you want a quick meal. You will find a wide choice of dishes from starters to desserts with self-service.

In the morning one hour before arrival, you can have your Breakfast from the buffet in the Restaurant à la Carte. To start the day on the right foot, help yourself to the buffet of pastries, breads and hot drinks unless you prefer fruit, yogurts, cheeses and hams.
For a lighter breakfast, opt for the Bar Central. Pastries are served with coffee.

Your accommodation in a cabin or in an armchair

For passengers travelling in a cabin:
For 1, 2, 3 and 4 persons, the Cabins are all equipped with showers and toilets, an alarm and a radio. Enjoy the television free of charge with all the national channels including Canal +. You will also find 2 bottles of Corsican mineral water offered by the Company as well as towels, shower gel and soaps. To find your cabin on board ship:

• From 4101 to 4223 in the mauve area amidships on Deck 4
• From 4301 to 4434 in the mauve area at the bow of the ship on Deck 4
• From 4501 to 4616 in the salmon area at the stern of the ship on Deck 4
• From 5101 to 5204 in the blue area at the stern of the ship on Deck 5

Extra blankets and pillows can be supplied upon request from the reception of the ship.

For passengers travelling in an armchair :
After presenting yourself at Reception, go to your Armchair on Deck 5 at the stern. The lounge is equipped with 50 large and numbered armchairs, luggage lockers and public showers.
For your peace and quiet, the armchair lounges are not equipped with television. Television is available in the bar lounge or in the television room located behind the bar.
In the armchair lounges you will find luggage lockers that take 2-euro coins.

You will find a customer satisfaction form in your cabin or in the armchair lounge.  By completing it you have a chance to win a return crossing for Corsica or Sardinia. Ideas and criticisms that you can give us will help us to improve the service that we offer you.

General information

General information on weather, opening times of the bar, the restaurant, and the cinema as well as its programmes, menus and safety instructions are always posted at reception.

You have just found your cabin. Before doing anything else, get to know the safety instructions shown on the door of your cabin. When you leave it, take a few minutes to find the way to your meeting point where lifebelts can be found in case of abandoning ship. In all cases, follow the crew’s instructions scrupulously. They have done special training to manage emergency situations.

For any questions, you can ask the Purser or the Maître d’hôtel who can be found at reception until the departure of the ship. After departure, and until 11pm, you can ask staff at the different points of sale who will find the best person to answer you. During the night, and only in case of real emergency, you can contact an officer on watch on the bridge through a telephone in the reception area.
Through its quality management system, La Méridionale shows its ability to provide a regular service conforming to the requirements of its clients and to legal and regulatory requirements.

Smoking areas on board

We inform you that all of our vessels, harbour stations and agencies are non-smoking (Decree nº 2006 - 1386 of 15 November 2006 fixing the conditions of application of the ban on smoking in public places).
In accordance with the regulations, for the comfort of passengers who will come after you and for safety reasons, we thank you for not smoking in your cabin or in the passenger areas.
