Board the Girolata

You board via a ramp at the stern of the ship.

If you have a vehicle, a member of the crew will designate a place for you on the Car Deck (Deck 4 on the Car Deck).

From the garage and from the passenger access, an escalator will take you comfortably to Reception. We invite you to take with you bags and items that you will need during the crossing (toilet bag, warm clothes).For security reasons (Code ISPS), access to your vehicle is prohibited after departure.

We must inform you that for reasons of hygiene and allergies, domestic animals are not authorised in passenger areas. They must travel in your vehicle or in the kennels. To find out more about travelling with pets, click here .

At Reception, on Deck 5, the Purser and the Maître d'Hôtel will give you a perforated card-key that opens the door of your cabin and explain where it is. Between your arrival on board and the departure of the ship, it is still possible to change accommodation subject to availability.

Life on board

On Deck 6, the Bar Central (Main Bar) welcomes you until 11pm and the Bar Lido until midnight (only in season). Regional newspapers are available free of charge.

You can, if you prefer, spend time in the Television Room on the same deck.
To entertain you during the crossing, we invite you to the Cinema. It is on Deck 5. The showing is free. The programme is posted at the entrance to the auditorium.
For little ones, a Children’s Area can be found on Deck 6, with a play area and a video screen. It is next to the Salon Central (Main Lounge) and from here the parents can watch over them with peace of mind. On the same deck electronic billiard games and other Video Games are available for older ones.

Unless you prefer to stroll on the Promenade Decks and enjoy the charms of a sea crossing in this way.

Your evening meal and your breakfast

To eat on board you have a choice between the Restaurant à la Carte and the Snack Bar. They are on Deck 6.

The Restaurant à la Carte opens its doors between 7pm and 9.30pm, and you are served at your table. Let yourself be tempted by the choice of set menus, the variety of starters, the refinement of the dishes of the day whether meat, fish or grilled food and desserts. Taste the flavours of the Isle of Beauty in the dishes inspired by Corsican cuisine. Dishes are prepared on board the same day by our chefs.

A bottle of Corsican mineral water is offered to you on each table by the Company. Our wine waiter will advise you on the best choice of bottled wines or the house wine LA MERIDIONALE. The menus are posted at the entrance.

The Snack Bar is open from 7pm to 11pm. It’s very practical if you want to have a quick meal. You will find a wide choice of dishes from starters to desserts with self-service.

Breakfast is served at the Snack Bar in the morning one hour before arrival. To start the day on the right foot, help yourself to the buffet of pastries, breads, hot drinks, fruit, yogurts, cheeses and hams..

For a lighter breakfast, opt for the Bar Central. Pastries are served with coffee.

Your accommodation in a cabin or in an armchair

For passengers travelling in cabins :

For 1, 2, 3 and 4 persons, the Cabins are all equipped with showers and toilets, a telephone to call Reception or other cabins, towels, shower gel and soaps. You can also enjoy, free of charge, of a television with the main national channels as well as Canal+.

You will also find 2 bottles of Corsican mineral water offered by the Company.

To find your cabin on the ship:

• Cabins with a number starting with 1 are in the pink area on Deck 5
• Cabins with a number starting with 2 are in the blue area on Deck 5
• Cabins with a number starting with 3 are in the light green area on Deck 4A
• Those numbered from 301 to 319 and cabin 321 are in the dark green area on Deck 5

Extra blankets and pillows can be supplied upon request from the reception of the ship.

For passengers travelling in armchairs :

After presenting yourself at Reception, go to your armchair on Deck 6. The 50 reclining, large and numbered armchairs are divided amongst two lounges.
For your peace and quiet, the armchair lounges are not equipped with television. You can find televisions in the Bar Central, Bar Lido and also in the VIP lounge.
You will find luggage lockers in an area behind the bar. They take 2 euro coins.

You will find a customer satisfaction form in your cabin or in the armchair lounge.  By completing it you have a chance to win a return crossing for Corsica or Sardinia. Ideas and criticisms that you can give us will help us to improve the service that we offer you.

General information

After General information on weather, opening times of the bar, the restaurant and the cinema as well as the programmes, menus and safety instructions can be found posted at reception at all times.

You have just found your cabin. Before doing anything else, get to know the safety instructions shown on the door of your cabin. When you leave it, take a few minutes to find the way to your meeting point where lifebelts can be found in case of abandoning ship. In all cases, follow the crew’s instructions scrupulously. They have done special training to manage emergency situations.

For any questions, you can ask the Purser or the Maître d’hôtel who can be found at reception until the departure of the ship. After departure, and until 11pm, you can ask staff at the different points of sale who will find the best person to answer you. During the night, and only in case of real emergency, you can contact an officer on watch on the bridge through a telephone in the reception area.


Through its quality management system, La Méridionale shows its ability to provide a regular service conforming to the requirements of its clients and to legal and regulatory requirement.

Smoking areas on board

We inform you that all of our vessels, harbour stations and agencies are non-smoking (Decree nº 2006 - 1386 of 15 November 2006 fixing the conditions of application of the ban on smoking in public places).
In accordance with the regulations, for the comfort of passengers who will come after you and for safety reasons, we thank you for not smoking in your cabin or in the passenger areas
