A new ship for 2011 : the PIANA
A new ro-ro vessel on the Marseille-Bastia line by 2011 !
Since a few months ago, the Brodosplit (Croatia) shipyards have been in charge of building a new ship ordered by La Méridionale.
180 metres in length, it will be able to carry 2500 linear metres of freight, 200 cars and 750 passengers at a service speed of 23 knots.
It will be the flagship of our fleet and as such will be equiped with the latest techniques in sustainable development (highly sophisticated waste management, sorted for recycling and compacted, main engines which comply with future international conventions, energy-saving silicon hull paints,etc...)
As are our 3 existing vessels, it will be ISM, ISO 9001:2000 et ISO 14001:2004.
Better equiped
This new vessel will offer all of our customers, both passengers and freight clients, a wide range of facilities :
- a flexible restaurant area (total capacity 400 including a restaurant and a self-service section)
- two bars, one of which opens directly onto the promenade deck at the stern of the ship, and a private lounge bar
- 200 cabins, 150 of which will have 4 beds and 50 of which will be equipped with double beds
- a cinema
- a meeting room
- a garage deck reserved for passengers' cars only
This ro-ro passenger vessel corresponds to the desire of our company to renew the fleet and have high-performance ships which meet the expectations of our passengers and freight customers.
