Sustainable development

La Méridionale has obtained ISO 14001 certification

La Méridionale environmental policy has been rewarded with the granting ISO 14001 certification.

Since 2005, La Méridionale has been involved in a project concerning the sustainable management of its activities aimed at reducing their impact in the environment.

The main challenge of sustainable development is to meet the needs of the present without compromising the capacity of future generations to satisfy their own needs.

This challenge can be interpreted as 3 main targets :

Constantly improving

The ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System (EMS) will allow La Méridionale to maintain its environmental performance and manage its on-going progress. Environmental analysis will be updated regularly, in the light of new developments in company activities and technological enhancements, and thus allow new goals to be set :

  • Monitor technical developments allowing engines to be better tuned
  • Look at the consumption of other fuels (oils, petrol, electricity, water...)
  • Maintain the waste management policy, concentrating on reducing the production of waste, sorting and recycling
  • More rational consumption of products used, by no longer serving in our restaurants protected products the over-consumption of which would have a impact on ecological balance
  • Implement the tracking of regulations and standards in the field of the environment
  • Carefully monitor technological developments in alternative energies
  • Develop an environmental culture in the company.
