Land-based staff

Sales positions :

The sales staff welcome customers, inform them, sell the company’s services and help them when booking and boarding. They also deal with administrative tasks (invoicing, refunds, checks...). As the company’s vessels are mixed (embarking both freight and passengers), the sales departments are divided into :

Customer Advisors :

Belonging to the agency passenger department, the customer advisors perform several tasks since they deal at the same time with:

  • Requests for information and sales to customers calling La Méridionale
  • Requests for information and sales to customers who come to one of the 3 agencies
  • Passenger boarding.

Freight Assistants :

Belonging to the agency freight department, the freight assistants deal at the same time with the sale of transport services to clients (mainly road transport companies), booking freight on ships and checking vehicles upon embarkation.

They also manage dangerous goods (inflammable, toxic…) as well as freight over dimensional limits (height, length…)

Support or management services :

A certain number of positions (managers and workers) participate in the client service process either before or after the voyage. These are jobs in technical areas, computing, accounting, human resources, legal and administration.
Recruitment in these different positions is occasional and according to needs.

Workshop positions :

Mechanics, metal workers, cabiniers: these three specialities make up the workshop staff of around twenty people who carry out, when the vessels lay up in Marseille, first level maintenance of the ships. For this type of post, recruitment through apprenticeship is particularly well adapted.
