Pets
Do you have a pet? how will they travel?
For reasons of hygiene and allergies, no pet, of whatever sort (dog, cat, bird, hamster…) is authorised in the passenger areas (cabins, armchair lounges, bars, restaurants…).
They travel in your vehicle or in the kennels. Places in the kennels are for large dogs so please bring a pet carrier if you are travelling with a cat or other small animal.
You will not have access to the garage deck during your crossing, but these decks are ventilated and sailors make regular patrols.
IMPORTANT!!
We strongly advise against putting your animal in the boot of your car and absolutely prohibited to lock it in.
Put your pet in the passenger compartment, taking care to leave the windows open to allow your pet to breathe.
Whether your dog travels in the car or in the kennels, leave a bowl of water to allow him/her to drink during the crossing.
If your animal is travelling in the kennels, bring a 1 euro coin to open the kennel door, you will get it back when you leave.
All dogs travelling with La Méridionale must have an anti-rabies vaccination certificate.
SOME ADVICE
- Give your pet a light meal around 10 hours before leaving
- For trips of less than 12 hours, do not give your animal anything to eat to avoid any risk of vomiting.
- Walk your animal to allow it to relax before the crossing.
- If your animal is often nervous, you can give it medicine prescribed by your vet.
